Favorite Place on Earth

If you could fly anywhere right now, where would you go?

My friend asked me this on Sunday night.

Can you guess what my answer was?

Even though I was already at home, the only place imaginable that would keep me so happy, feel so loved, and appreciate spring so much was home. Nothing else compares.

It was hard for me to board the plane today. The week was too fantastic to want to leave behind. Unfortunately, I didn't have a choice--though I did hope for the huge wind gusts to keep us grounded for a few more...days. The wind was crazy today! It caused horrible turbulence when I left Minneapolis and when I arrived in Phoenix. Airlines should seriously consider handing out Dramamine with their complimentary beverages!

Instead of rambling on forever, here are some of my favorite things about the past seven days:

1. Airport pickup by Momma Cakes, Popparone, and Suz--complete with signs. There is nothing better than running to baggage claim to meet the people you love.

2. Lunch with Kira at Cafe Latte.

3. Playing "race track" with Woofie when I got home.

4. Yardwork with the Johnson crew. Seriously, I don't remember yardwork being so much fun.

5. 70 degree weather for the majority of my time in WI.

6. Scoping out the bald eagle and her massive nest in our back yard. They are amazing animals!

7. Running, running, running--to town, to Gmas, to the river, to the ArtBarn. And to make it all the more fun, I ran my first race ever (a 5k) on Saturday with Noah, Abby, and Uncle Ronnie in Osceola. We had a blast, and our times were more documented PRs.

8. Bonfires under the starlit sky.

9. Indian food + watching Twin's game + Italian food with the coolest people I know.

10. Celebrating Easter with the Mason's on Saturday complete with flying kites, playing baseball, and trying to beat UB on the wii.

11. Afternoon games with Suz and winning the Trifecta of card playing.

12. Seeing a preview of the ArtBarn's first production of the year.

13. Hugging Gma and Bernie and sneaking a lemon drop :)

14. Door-to-door chauffeur service with Hack Shuttle. Thank you, Keith!

It was my hope to revel in the glory of the week and ease back into life in Arizona, but the Ford Focus Wagon and the transmission guys down the road had something else in mind. But that's for another day.

I hope you are doing well. I will post pictures tomorrow. I'm tired. I think I'm still on Central time.

Peace--
HGJ

It's good to hear that you really appreciate home and had a good time there. Four more months to go!
