Canned Heat

It's heating up in Arizona! The forecast this week includes triple digit numbers, so we know summer is right around the corner. It's cool inside, but each time I go outside the comfort of A/C it's like being wrapped in a heating blanket set on high. It means I am being forced to spend less time outside and get up by 5:30 in the morning to run before it hits the 80s. But this gives me a legitimate excuse to take a nap when I am done with work at the end of the day! I love naps.

Everything else is decently normal. The car has been acting up again, but I've given into the fact that I'm just going to drive it until it dies. Hopefully it will get me back home in a few months...or at least decently close.

It was actually an interesting trip to the mechanic today--not so much with the car issues, but the man that was helping me asked some faith questions and what I was doing in ministry. My favorite statement from him: "God, you really don't seem like a typical pastor." My answer (before pushing him on his thoughts)? "You're right." Can you see me smiling from afar?

Transmission issues + mechanic+ call story= surprisingly interesting evangelism opportunity.

It is hard to believe that 9 months of internship are done, with two and a half to go. This year has been good, but it has now come to the time where the countdown of internship officially begins. Two council meetings left to attend to, a handful of sermons left to be written and preached, three more huge rounds of home communion visits left, a limited amount of bible studies left to facilitate, a few trips in the mix, and it will be August before we know it.

Sweet.

It's been a good day, but now I have a stupid song in my head. I hate when that happens.

Jamiroquai, anyone?
Dance...nothing left for me to do but dance...Got canned heat in my heals tonight!

How in the world did I get that song stuck in my head?! This is going to be a "pancake night"...I can feel it. (This is one of the Johnson-coined terms for tossing, turning, flipping, flopping all night.) Uh oh. It's going to be an early morning.

Anyway, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Be well--
HGJ

I kinda like that song. You reminded me that I will soon have one more newsletter deadline and council report to submit. Then only two after that.

there will always be opportunities to share... in all it's your walk... not the words that will make people wonder what's up!

From your mind...
