A Super Day

Highlights of this spectacular February 1st:

1. Getting to church on time after my alarm not going off (it was actually set for 5:30 PM. Whoops).

2. Great church services. We sang "upbeat" songs by the church's standard: Gather Us In, Shine Jesus Shine, Canticle of the Turning (that one's for you ASM and Ms. Aase--I wish I could have videotaped the 70-90+ year olds singing it for you. Scott, I wish you could have been there with your guitar. You all would have been so impressed), and This Little Light of Mine.

3. Preaching was awesome. And I get to preach it again next week at a different campus so I don't have to write a new one this week. Sermon series are kind of fun.

4. Helping lead Confirmation. Today the youth not only learned more about the sacraments, but led most of the service for a baptism, including Holy Communion. Talk about hands on learning!

5. Reconnecting with old friends on Facebook and on the telephone. Pastors Barb and Craig are in town (my pastors from Chisago). We have a breakfast date in the morning!

6. Attending a fantastic Super Bowl party in Gold Canyon. The people were wonderful, the food delicious, and the game riveting. Although the hometown team didn't win the game, it was, undoubtedly, a great game! (Thanks again, Hackneys, AuMillers, and Jacky.)

7. Coming home to a hilarious episode of The Office. Usually I don't watch the show in "real time"--that's saved for next year--but it has been too good tonight to pass it by.

A super day, I would say. I hope you can say the same thing.

Take care!

Peace--
HGJ
