Your $ or your life!

This weekend has been the looooooongest weekend. I am so glad it is done. I sit here wishing it would be Friday tomorrow instead of Monday. But, as you know, I am not gifted with the talent of fast-forwarding time. Plus, I was reminded today by a sweet old woman not to wish time away.

Friday began with the sad news that our favorite family cat, Rosie, died from cancer. It was heartbreaking news for the Johnson/Mason crew. She was amazing. We were blessed to have had her for 12 years, and home will certainly seem different when I return after Easter.

We caught a quick breakfast with Mr. Hackney and one last run in the neighborhood before dropping Noah and Abby off at the airport. It was sad to see them go, but I am happy that they were able to come for a visit.

And then the Jack Benny Revue began on Friday evening. If you don't know who Jack Benny is, I don't exactly either. All I know is that 99.9 % of our congregation does, and they love him. Or maybe it's more fair to say they love Pastor Myron, who plays a dead-on Jack Benny.

I showed up on Friday night (the first of the three sold-out performances), really having no idea what I was getting myself into. With 20+ performers, you would think I have been able to get out of singing or acting, but they are so good to me here, they want me to have every opportunity possible ;)

So, story short, I was a ten-second wonder. I played the robber who runs up with a gun for a stick-up and says, "Your money or your life!" Jack's famous line is, "I'm thinking, I'm thinking."

Yep.

We did have fun though. A lot of work and passion went into it to raise money for an orphanage in Romania (which I hope to be visiting this summer). It was a great success for our community.

So, take that and add in an all-day council retreat, youth spaghetti dinner fundraiser (I can't escape from doing these!), three services, two musical guest groups, a Confirmation Communion Bread bake-a-thon, some Prophets homework, and you pretty much have my weekend.

So now I am off to take a shower, eat some oatmeal, brush my teeth, and catch some of the Oscars.

Hope you had a good weekend!

Best--
HGJ
