Highlights of the trip include:
- Seeing Vera pull up at the airport with her favorite driver for the first time in six months!
- Playing in the sand and Pacific Ocean for the first time on Thursday afternoon, less than a half hour after I landed in L.A.
- Watching the cool surfers
- Surviving putting on two wet suits while overheating and controlling my complete humiliation and embarrassment
- Going to Amber's kick-butt church & meeting her surfer pastor supervisor
- Scott driving in from Brea to hang out for the weekend
- Eating Rascal's delicious food
- Night hiking to the Cove
- Morning surf play. It was so much fun to try surfing. It wasn't the most successful excursion for either Scott or myself, but we had so much fun. (Scott got seasick WAY out in the water and threw up, and I kept getting pummeled from the waves. Needless to say, the lifeguards were keeping their eyes on both of us.)
- Hiking down to some tide pools and spotting sea urchins, starfish, crabs, dolphins, even an octopus. bward, I would have given anything to have had you there to see it. A real octopus!
- Exploring Trump's public beach access area
- Friday night chill time making videos, eating pie, and doing some whistling
- Sea kayaking with sea lions everywhere
- Watching America's Next Top Model. Scott knew more about the models than we did. Funny.
- Soaking up lots of sunshine, though the SPF 40 didn't hold out the best. Whoops.
Now I need to get ready for tomorrow. No more procrastinating.
