Superstitions: Up Close and Personal

For my day off, Mom and I decided on another adventure in the Superstition Mountains. We had such a fantastic day.

The weather was perfect for hiking--70s, sunny, with a little breeze. This time we headed into Lost Dutchman State Park (we didn't think the Wagon would do well off-roading). On the way in, we paid our $5 day pass and scored some sweet walking sticks for $4. Awesome.

With a full Camelback and lunch packed, we trekked up the mountainside and back down. The trail took us right up to the top area of the Superstitions. We had such a great time. We are already planning our next trip there--possibly Sunday night for a special moon-lit hike (we're bound to see javelinas then, aren't we?)--and for when Noah and Abby get here next week.

What fun.

Oh, and Mom was even "lucky" enough to get attacked by a cactus. But that's a story for another day.

Oh, Arizona. What a weird place. Tomorrow we might be getting rain...exciting!

Have a great weekend.

Be well--
HGJ

Here's our "goodbye" photo to Poppop, too :)
