Another weekend...come and gone already...it's been way too fast! It has been full of so many adventures, I can hardly remember yesterday. But here are a few highlights:
1. Sitting with Bri (Matt's wife) at the Women of the ELCA's Advent Breakfast. All of the company was good, but it was fun to sit with her and know that I wasn't alone in the under 55 category. The other women were so kind and the food was good too!
2. Dinner date with Erin at P.F. Chang's and concert at the Mesa Arts Center with Erin and her aunt and uncle. We went to hear the Gin Blossoms (Don't ring a bell? Think "Anywhere you go, I'll follow you down" and "Hey jealousy"). We had fun. It is a beautiful center. And we scored backstage passes for a "Meet and Greet," though once we got back there, we realized we had no idea who these people really are--or what they look like--so we took a quick picture and escaped.
3. And we both fell in love with one of the opening acts: Benton Paul. He's Jason Mraz + John Mayer-like. Check out his website sometime when you need a distraction.
4. And it was another good church day, though the four services of Holy Communion + 2 hours of Confirmation (I love the youth) tend to put me in a coma for the rest of Sundays. I enjoyed much of this morning though, so that was a nice treat.
Speaking of communion, my friend Laura in New York wrote a wonderful blog today on it. It's a good one, and I think it will make you smile. Check that out too...
Ok, I am off to write out some "thank you's" and listen to Benton Paul.
Peace to you all--
