Spirit of the Desert

I just returned home from Spirit of the Desert Retreat Center in Carefree, Arizona--about an hour north of Phoenix. It was beautiful!

All of the interns and their supervisors in the region gathered for our first cluster meeting. We spent time sharing stories, discussing issues that face our churches, and laughing. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant about going in the first place, but in the end, I am glad to have had a day away and time to connect with people my own age who are experiencing some of the same sort of things as I am.

We don't meet as a whole group officially until next spring, though we plan on running into each other at the Bishop's Convocation in two weeks.

The other great news is that next month our missional cohort is headed to Las Vegas for another retreat and coaching workshop. Road trip, anyone? :)

These small getaways are making these weeks a lot easier and more fun. Thank goodness!

Peace--
HGJ

PS...Here are some fun pictures of the desert landscape.

Hey there Osceola Girl... Been thinking of you so very much. What a perfect time to check in, then! My my my, haven't you been busy! Weddings... Polar Plunging. Your desert photos are glorious. Would you please send me a couple to use as screen savers?
A little up date from CLLC: Your desk is no longer in the same place, so we are finally NOT saying "Hannah's Desk". But you are missed. Especially by Beth and that crew... They are starting to get over the fact that KAT is not "theirs". Especially when Alice is in KAT this year. ooo so hard to share. The transition with Joe seems to be going very well. He's ruffled a few feathers, which is to be expected. :) But he's a big boy and is no worse for the wear. He has a zest that is unmatchable and a laugh that fills a room! Your hard work has not been in vain.

My folks left MN on Sat. the 11th so should be hitting Mesa/Home very soon. Jan & Arden Ness. I will make sure they look for you.

Blessings to you, sweet Hannah! Remember your sun screen!
Love, Susan Peterson
