As I struggle to write my "learning service agreement" for internship and wonder what I have learned over these past two months and what I will learn over the next nine, I am not sure of much. Everything is mostly a blur. Sure, I can remember some things and people specifically, but not exactly. Every day kind of flows into the next.
But I do know this:
I like to be together with people.
I like to be in the company of others.
I like to share daily life with those around me.
I like to talk and to play games and even to laugh with real people better than I do with the people in movies or on TV.
And, I like to have family and friends close by (My mom is back for round two, and phone calls to family and friends are daily life savers!)
I don't like to be alone, and I don't like to come home to an empty apartment.
Now, if I can only express all of this to my candidacy committee and negotiate some things, I think my career in the ELCA might be well-lived.
This is most certainly true.
Be well--

Oh, it's so important to be able to name what gives you life, especially in ministry. Enjoy time with your mom!
