We have arrived at the one of the most fabulous places on earth: Sedona, Arizona.
My parent's theater work earned them a blessed week-long stay at the Hyatt Pinon Pointe Vacation Club (Thank you, Buell Family). I am lucky to have been able to tag along for a stay.
We left after church this afternoon, with me navigating the Ford Focus Wagon and the PT Cruiser rental through construction and mountain grades. We got here just as the sun was setting, and all of us have exclaimed that this is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. It is simply marvelous! The town is surrounded by red rock mountains...a stark contrast from the flat gray cement of Mesa.
If that isn't wonderful enough, the resort is amazing. We were greeted by a concierge, cocktail party, and a tour of the hot tubs, endless pool, top of the line fitness center, and our two bedroom condo with two balconies, one gigantic jacuzzi, and fireplace. Not exactly a typical Johnson getaway!
Even without the fancy living space, the beauty would make anyone want to live here. I'll have to do some research and see if there are any ELCA churches in the area :)
(I was ready to upload pictures, but my computer won't connect to the internet, so you'll have to wait until later this week.)
Tomorrow's plan includes checking out Chapel on the Hill and Red Rock State Park. I have to head back to Mesa for work, but am planning on coming back up again.
I wish you were here to share in this!
Thinking of you--

P.S. Church was awesome today. Matt preached some fantastic stuff on "Jesus: the Light of the Church." My mom calls it "revolutionary." I do too. I'll post on it again once the audio stream is uploaded on the internet.
